Day 1

I made it to Paris....barely! There's nothing like hearing the words, "Your flight has been cancelled". They tried to re-route me all over creation until I said, "Is it possible to fly another airline?" And voila! I was on a flight to Paris via Chicago. My high-school friend Karen is traveling with me this year from California and fortunately we found each other upon arrival at the Paris airport.
The first day in Paris was spent cruising the Seine on the batobus. We timed it perfectly so that we would disembark at the Eifel tower just in time for the light show. It was spectacular! The first day was also spent indulging in the wonderful food and wine that Paris has to offer. I think I'm off to a pretty good start again this year, eating and drinking and sightseeing my way through Paris!
